What filler to use

Postby David Jones » October 17th, 2013, 12:46 pm

I have made up the pilots for the DC3. They arrived in kit form and are made from a moulded resin material. They need tidying up where the limbs attach to the body, then they will be ready for painting. Can anyone suggest what Kind of filler I should use and where I can get it from. I've attached a couple of photos to give you an idea of what I'm on about. Thanks in advance, Dave Jones.

Milliput (epoxy putty) maybe.........can be mixed, forced into all joints & 'formed' whist soft, once hardened, any excess can be sanded/filed away.

OR.......I seem to remember Humbrol made a plastic specific model filler in a tube....'Green Model filler' rings a bell.

Thanks for that Phil, I've been given some light weight two part filler that is actually used in the aircraft industry so I'll see how that turns out. I'll also keep in mind the two you've mentioned. Dave Jones.
