Sierra Oleo's Advice Please

Looking for some advice please,
I have a set of Sierra Oleo's that need new springs, I can' t work out how to remove the old one's from the Oleo. I've attached a few photo's. The only way I can see is the split pin at the top of the leg but before I do anything rash I thought I'd ask on the forum if anyone's done this before or any easy way to remove and equally as important replace a compressed spring.
Someone out there has done this before.

Ta

That’s a hardened roll pin Mike, it needs tapping out with a punch, but first, compress the oleo, if it was me, the top part, next to the pin, would be in a Lathe collect chuck, and a plate compressing the oleo with the tail stock, then tap the pin out, take into work, give the training school a task!
