My next project is a1/3 scale Taylorcraft Auster. The full size has a bungee sprung undercarriage. As I have never made one, can some one help with details , design etc.
Thanks Allan

Allan,
Attached, if you can view them, are two drawings from the maintenance and operation manual of my Chrislea Ace. This should give you some idea of how these types of undercarriage are sprung - the bungees are rings (3 per side) though on a model you could make them out of one long bungee cord. The small loop on the drawing can be dismissed, its a safety cable designed to stop the undercarriage collapsing should all the rings snap.
On a model I would think the only awkward bit is making small but strong pivots where each leg is attached to the longeron.
I can send you drawings at full resolution, should you wish.
Hope this helps.

Thanks for your reply. The drawings will not open up on my machine, but I have been in touch with an Auster owner who is sending me some photos.
Cheers Allan
