Hi John,
I have a JC area 51, absolutely brilliant engine, but I had trouble initially setting up the carburation.
It will not run at full throttle unless the high needle is at least 2 and 3/4 turns open - that is after running in.
present settings are - low needle 7/8 turn open and high needle 2 and 3/4 turns open.
If the engine dies when you try to open the throttle to full - richen to at least 3 or 4 turns on the high needle and try again.
Best of luck - Dave Tregaskes - LMA 2474

Hi Dave
Your information is the same as Al,s who has the engine. It appears you and many others are happy will this type of engine, but now and again there is a faulty carburetta out there. Since the posting was made ,Al has made some alteration to the carb and is now getting far better results.
Thank you for time and information
