Hi all.
I am trying to use a brushed speed controller as a light switch on my Typhoon, I have put a Y lead between the controler and the flaps, so when I select flaps on the TX, the lights come on. Only thing is, the lights come on with the flaps in the up poz. I have tried reversing the servo operation but the lights still come on when the flaps are up.

Any ideas out there please?

being all electric I use a lots of esc's. Most esc's are only at true zero (or their off position) when as well as the transmitter function being completely at one end of it's travel, the trim also has to be at that end of it's travel. If the trim for the channel you are using is still in it's mid position then the esc will be on a little.....might make setting the flaps more tricky.
An alternative would be to use one of these http://www.hobbyking.com/hobbyking/store/uh_viewItem.asp?idProduct=8833 They are less than £10 with postage. They are out of stack at the moment but usually come back in after a few weeks - if you are desperate I have an un-used one in the cupboard.
I use these for switching my night LED's on/off when night flying.

Andy, thanks for the info. I just orderd a switch from Hobby King. Hope it will not be to long before it arrives or you may be raiding that cupboard!
