Wing join line

Postby Andy Boylett » March 5th, 2011, 5:57 pm

Guys, I need a few more suggestions from you if you can. The wings on my build have a 26" chord and are 3 piece with a centre section and 2 plug in outer pieces. I have currently got a small tapered gap. Is there any way to get that join line looking good?

Andy,
Apply shiny sellotape or parcel tape to one wing leaving the edge proud, then put a filler (Davids P38 or similar) to the other wing and put the wings together. Once set, sand to shape.

John,
check out the brfore and after pics of my wing join. It is hard to see in the photo, but that gap was 2.5mm or nearly 1/8"......fantastic, thank you.
