ZDZ100 B2 RV Ignition Unit Advice Please

Folks,

I have a ZDZ100 B2 RV. It needs a new ignition unit, the one that came with it (a Falkon PCI 2.3 80ccm) is broken, only one lead is firing. Now a genuine replacement unit is £170, and then I'm told I need a new prop driver (another £20) cos the magnet in the newer Falkon units is the other way round.

Would a RexCel or DLE 111 unit work (around £60) with this engine? Or is the Falkon unit a 'special' unit I have to shell out for?

Does anyone ever done this with this particular engine?

Matt, if it is possible to open the unit up, I might be able to repair it for you.

Hi tony,

Yes, when I got it, the unit had already been opened up and taped back together.
I know it's the unit that's faulty as the 'good' lead will happly run either cylinder.

It'd be ace if it could be repaired, I had a looksee but couldn't see anything untoward, but I know nothing about electrics!
