Hi,
I'm thinking of having ago at building a Rawle 1/5th scale Mosquito. Are there any pit falls i should look out for during construction? I've got two Zenoah 38's for the model and i'm getting the retracts sorted out.
Sean.

Hi Sean,
The man to speak to is Neil (Mr Mossie) Hutchinson.
He built "F for Freddie", a Rawle Mossie powered by a pair of Z45s a few years ago, and it's documented on
www.mossie.orgIt's a bit of a work of art, and IIRC it's on display in a museum.
From speaking with Richard a few years ago, the 38s will fly it okay
if you can keep the weight down.
Mark.

Hi Sean.
I have a part built Rawle mossie which i purchased last year, i hope to start work on it soon havent looked at it in detail yet but the drawings appear to be very sparce on details and i am already scatching my head looking at some elements.
This is defenatly a model for the experienced builder as i think you will end up going your own way on some of the construction due to lack of information and details.
I would advise reg the build with the over 20Kg scheme as the one i have will certainly be over the limit and some issues have already come to light which need altering.
I have two Dl55s for mine as i want to try to give it some vertical performance, i have been up to the Dehaviland museum at Hatfeild where they have one hanging up which was built many years ago but it builds into a fantastic looking model.
I have some photos of the completed model and if you like can post some photos of the build so far.
Cheers Steve

Hi Steve,
I've just started on mine and i've got Ken Bones as my LMA inspector as he only lives just up the road. I agree about the plans, more for guidance than anything else as i've already found some former's are different sizes on the former plan template compared to the fuselage plan view.

Would members like me to post any more photos on the build? I know this isn't the projects forum, but i'm not planning on doing a detailed build.
