Applying Koverall

Postby Philip Goff » October 31st, 2012, 9:57 pm

Dear All
Having been a modeller for thirty plus years,
I have never used the afore mentioned Koverall.
So I thought it was about time I used some,
can anyone tell me the best way to apply it and then fill the weave please.

It is going to be used on a Horsa glider

Thank you in advance.

Regards Phil Goff.

Use fabric cement from Skycraft. Brush around the edges of all parts, lay Koverall over, smooth down by hand and brush more adhesive through the fabric.....this activates the adhesive on the structure bonding it in place (rub it down with a finger as you go). Treat all curved edges etc....as you would tissue & dope by snipping to allow the fabric to form to a curve without creasing.

Heat shrink with iron or heat gun, than apply at least 6 coats of Skycraft non shrinking dope thinned 50/50 to seal & fill the weave of the fabric.

Prime & paint as normal.

Phil
