Hi Stuart,

You may be in luck! I have built both a 1/4 scale and 1/3rd scale E28/39 and they both flew very well. I have a lot of information on the aircraft, but there is a small catch!

All my stuff is currently packed away in boxes awaiting my return to the UK, if you are in no real hurry then I'm sure we can sort you out with some accurate 3-views and photos. I have some very basic plans for both models but they were never meant to be used by anyone but me, so I don't think you would be able to decipher them. When I get back and unpack my stuff then I'll keep a look out for you.

Cheers

Steve

Hey Steve,
Cant believe you read the shout out Im putting 2 and 2 together and guessing your the guy that built the 3rd scale model which rcm and e did the review on?? I believe shortly after that model was sold to ali???
Ive allways had a great admiration for the aircraft and the engine that was used and would love to build a replica including the engine!!!
I would love to get a good chat with you, think your just the man could help!!!
I downloaded some blueprints from the net but to be honest when I started putting them on the autocad they were pritty awfull !!!
When do you think you will be back in the UK Steve?

Cheers,
Stuart.

Hi Stuart,

Yes, Ali took the 1/3rd scale one, the 1/4 scale one met a sticky end when the model went into fail safe. There are couple of good books about the aircraft..but I can't find their titles at the moment...!

I am back in just a couple of weeks but I don't think I'll have much unpacked before Christmas but I am sure I've got something, somewhere!

My email is Steve j rickett (at) gmail.com. (Without the spaces!), pls drop me a line.

Cheers

Steve

According to Wikipedia, E28/39 refers to the 28th experimental aircraft specification issued by the Air Ministry in 1939. Glosters response was the Gloster G40 and there are quite good drawings of the G40 in http://richard.ferriere.free.fr/3vues/3vues.html - might be worth a look?
