best choice for multiple 50cc petrol engines ?

Afternoon all
advice and user opinions on petrol engine brands please
Currently running 4 x 50cc RCGF engines but ongoing niggles with reliability are becoming very frustrating. RCGF have been helpful with spare parts but would rather not need them at all. Can anyone provide opinions on other brands (DA, DLE, DLA, etc) for both reliability and price (there are 4 to buy after all)

many thanks

Rich

to date, there has only been one engine with total reliability, and that a standard magneto zenoah, no electronic frills, no complications, all the multis i know use them,

Agree 100%.......one of my ZG45's has been in the same model for 10 full seasons.......the only things I have replaced has been the plug and the tank plumbing. The engine has had in excess of 300 flights and in all that time, it's only stopped once.......and that way my stupid fault for flying for too long (approx. 20min) at and end of show bomber/fighter slot at Cosford a couple of years ago. Other than that.......100% reliability, never stopped, never failed to start when I've wanted it to.

I was thinking of using two DLE 55RA engines in my Mosquito, would you all advise against them?

Cheers all
That seems positive . I just acquired a 1/5 scale Skyraider with a Zenoah lump so that gives me confidence for that model. Will have a look round for best deal on set of 4 for the multi.

its not that there would be advice against them, its just that plain simple no frills engine are what many use for twins, the mossy, with its slim cowls, would probably benefit from a rear carb motor, with Pitts style silencers, the only drawback with zenoahs, is they are a tad bulky, as with everything, its down to compromise, many are using dle, da, dl, and are having good results, the ones i know of are in sinlges, i dont know of any in twins, someone out there may

apart from the bulky fuselage, its about the same area as the B17s and Lancs on the circuit isnt it? they all fly on 38 zenoahs

I think I'm correct in saying the Herc is A LOT heavier than any of the B-17's & Lancs on the circuit......so I don't think 38's will be enough. They will be if it's around the 100lb mark, but if it's heavier, you're not going to get a 45 or 62 fully cowled even with a 90 degree card bend to slim it down a little.
