Rivets

Hi all, looking for some technical tips please.
I'm mid build on two scale helis (one at a time seemed to easy) and wondered what techniques people were having success with for reproducing rivets.
In both cases I'm dealing with painted (easy to repaint after) fibreglass mouldings. In terms of the style of rivets, they're all slightly raised, so not the flush kind I've done before, for which I used a sharpened piece of copper tube in a soldering iron.
I've seen wood glue spots being used, but wondered how easy this would be to paint over after (enamel most likely) or if there were better ways?
