Hi,
I would like to tap into the collective millions of years of experience, of the membership. ;)
What is the consensus on, soft mounting, larger single cylinder petrol engines ( 100cc)..
Is it worth the trouble, does it cause additional problems.
If it does improve things, where can you get suitable mounts from.

I seem to remember that Chip Hyde used to promote a product when he used large single cylinder motors.

Cheers

Shaun

Shaun, the F3A guys use the Hyde mounts in thier IC outfits but as you know they all seem to be going electric. These mounts were available from ProBuild.

Tried soft mounting a zenoah 62, it was not good, it just did not like them, they where from apache, nothing wrong with them, but the engine didnt take to them, i have mates who have used the hydro mount, with shockers on the zenoahs, there is no vibration, and the noise comes down a LOT, what engine is it for???? i would guess the sachs 90 cc you where asking about?

Haven't run mine either yet ..
From researching , they are supposed to be a top quality , well made motor, except for their backfiring, finger breaking ability if you try to start them above low idle, (this is for the mechanical advanced retard motor ).
I'm going to convert mine to electronic advance / retard with a Rexel unit , like the newer ones.
