Had running problems for some time with a couple of Z38s, and last week discovered this with one. Anyone seen this before, or have a clue whats going on?

thats aluminium, crank or pully bent, and its effectively skiming the flywheel down and yes, seen it before, remove the plug, grip thevengine mount in vice, and check the propdriver, see if is runnig true, a clock would be best, but a sile pointer will do, if you can fix one up,

Ah! I thought it did not look true when running. Its not had a hard bump, thats why I was unsure about the crank. Is it a new crank then Alan?

maybe, maybe not, sometimes, if its the flywheel thats got hit, it will bend the crank at the taper section, and the flywheel, sometimes, this can be skimmed in situ, after repairing the crank displacement as to as good as it can be done, state, there is a charge, but the good news is, even if it takes only 1 hour, or 20, no fix, no charge, just return post i have sent more details by PM
