Hi,
I need an exhaust gasket for a Z38. Has anyone used copper/silicon paste for this (such as Henkel Loctite 5920 Premium Copper Silicone), and if so , does it stand up to the heat? The pastes typically work up to 250 c -275 c, but I have no idea what the exhaust temp is in a petrol 2 stroke.

I use MAG gray rtv silicone hi temp 999 .It is ok up to 750 f or 400 c.I purchased a tube on Ebay.The description I use is what is printed on the tube.It is great

You can use SIROFLEX trade strength Red High temperature Heat resistant silicone sealer. It is recommended for up to 300 degrees C but it doesn't deteriorate on petrol engine exhaust joints. It has the advantage that it helps to keep the bolts secure because it seals the threads and there is no gasket to collapse. It is readily available on the net, about £6 for a cartridge.

Thanks all, I have ordered the MAG Hi Temp off Ebay, and will give it a go. The misses keeps blowing a gasket, but I don't think Ebay can help there!
