Zenoah 38 reassembly

Postby Alan Riozzi » September 26th, 2016, 7:16 pm

I am about to resemble a zenoah 38 after fitting new bearings and seals.
Do I need any kind of compound when putting the crankcase back together.
I noticed some residue not unike like varnish when I disassembled the crankcase.
Cheers

Clean off both surfaces, scrape previous sealant if necessary, degrease the surfaces with meths, or any alcohol, i use hylomar blue, its petrol proof, be careful, a little spreads a long way, trial fit parts first

I've used ultra copper high temp gasket sealant with excellent results.
