How long would you expect petrol fuel tubing to last in a model. The fuel tube in my DC3 is genuine Tygon tube. Although my model is now in it's fourth season, it has had no more than 50 flights to date. I've inspected the fuel lines and they are no longer bright yellow, but are what I would call a very pale brown, they still feel soft and flexible to the touch. I store the centre section standing on it's leading edge so the felt clunks are always stored out of any residual fuel in the tank.

I re-plumb every 3-4 seasons regardless of condition. Tygon does 'brown' a little with age, but the proper stuff does remain flexible. I also always change the felt clunk as the felt can get a little bunged up with oil.........more so if the clunk is stored 'dry' and not in any fuel left in the tanks.

Thanks for that Phil. I'll certainly be looking at the clunks and do a more thorough check on the fuel lines.
