RDS system

Postby Arthur Fielding » January 4th, 2018, 7:14 pm

Hi
I have been following the Spitfire build by Mr Rob Crawford. I liked the RDS system he used on the ailerons .
I was not to far into my Brian Taylor spitfire build that I could not copy and fit this system. A bit of time on the lathe etc saw it up and running, and to be honest not a real problem to fit, with no slop.
My question is this, why are most of the large WW2 scale models seen on U tube fitted with control horns to ailerons and flaps?
The finish to these must have taken many hours to achieve so why not fit a RDS system and complete the job? Is there a inherent problem with this system that I have not recognised.
I would appreciate any comments.
Thanks for your time
Arthur

Stu, available from these guys! I have got 2 aircraft 1/5 scale fitted with them on the ailerons! No problems at all.
