wheel axles advice please

wheel axles for 25kg model DH Beaver
i have 6 in wheels need to be mount on a fibreglass under-cart must be able to take up to 25kg
what would the best material to make a wheel axle?
mild steel rod
hardened tool rod
aircraft grade Ali rod
axle idea made on my lathe

what metal rating for steel to heat treat?
would like to have a go at turning and heat treating the axles
would a stand high tensile steel do? 12mm round bar to turn the axles?
i finding metel turning very therapeutic

High tensile m8 more than man enough fibre glass will snap before the Bolt

EBay 161214378076 you need to measure the whith of the wheel and mounting point of the undercarriage you want the unthread bit in the wheel

Richard, just buy high tensile bolts, and turn the axles from them, metal turning therapeutic eh? Not when you do it for a job,
