Was just wondering, Miles Magister 85" is there any side or down thrust, came across a 52" plan that shows 2 - 3 degrees of side thrust, but no down thrust, have everything set to zero at the moment.
would be gratefull for any assistance.
( if nothing else to keep me right )

Jack, play safe & build in 2 degrees side and 2 degrees down thrust, this is pretty much a starting point. If the model experiences the need for lots of up trim on the elevator you can always reduce the down thrust but as the motor increases power you will experience a tendency for the aircraft to climb excessively if there is no down trim hence usually a small amount of down thrust is applied.

Thanks Cary, as a rule of thumb I would have thought 1 - 2 degrees of side/down, I would'nt have thought it would have differed from plan to plan as the 52" explained, thanks anyway will work on that basis.

Arthur this plane would be no good to you anyway, there is no gaffer tape and lolly sticks on it.

Jack, Arthur treats any plane as being a bundle of sticks with a motor strapped on the front! That's how he flies most things anyway.....
