I have an aircraft were I want to save some weight. If I replace the aluminium wing tube with a carbon tube I can save almost a pound. The aluminium tube is 30mm outside diameter with a wall thickness of 2mm. I would like to replace it with a woven carbon tube with a wall thickness of 1.5mm. All things being equal (quality of carbon tube ect) I think this would be Ok but thought I would check with you experienced persons.
cheers Dave.
