Servo selection for 120 inch wingspan Warbird

Postby Chris Walby » September 21st, 2023, 12:09 pm

Its at the back of the build que, but I might as well ask now as I start looking in detail at the drawings with an idea of what needs to go where. I'll go dual RX etc as it will be close to the 25kg limit but expect it to be under when all finished (its better be!)

Suggestions regarding size and make/model of servos
All sizes are of the individual component and I don't think anything requires dual servos driving one surface, but chip in with any suggestions please
Aileron is 3.2 inch by 24 inch
Outer flap is 2.8 inch by 12 inch
Inner flap is 4.8 inch by 12 inch
Elevator is 4 inch by 18 inch
Rudder is 5 inch by 16.5 inch

PS scale flying so hopefully nothing to extreme required on the servo front (solid and reliable).

Thanks for your time, Chris

Savox have been excellent in my big Mannock. Plenty of torque on 6v , on which they are happiest
