Lighting an aircraft

Postby James Stewart » October 16th, 2013, 1:07 pm

Afternoon all, i've decided to add a touch of realism with functioning lights on my latest model and I realised I'm not sure where about the rotating beacon goes on a Pilatus PC-9. The RAAF videos I could find show no lights apart from the Nav and strobe lights which I know where to position. I was able to find one picture of the aircraft with one on the underside near the airbrake. However, trying to find another image to corroborate this is difficult. I was considering using a lighting kit that you can buy but a trip to Maplins for the individual parts may be cheaper. If anyone has had experience in this please add your thoughts on the best way to light an aircraft.

Its all setup i'm afraid and looking good. The wiring was rather interesting but to clean it all up we used alarm wire so its all nice and neat in the wing and fuselage. I could post a couple of images if you're interested.
