Spektrum AR7600?

Slowly updating my models from crystal 35 mhz to JR/Spektrum 2.4 on 5 to 9 channel receivers, Being a real tightwad I have been shopping around for best deals and have noticed the AR7600 high speed receiver in the price lists.
It is only £8 more than the AR7000 but what advantage does it offer over the 7000 and will it work with my DSX9?
I have noticed that the 7600 has 2048 resolution but so too does the AR9000 which is only £72.00 from Als with its extra 2 channels. My experience of 2.4 is limited to a few indoor park fly receivers, the AR500 and JR R921.
