3.5mhz to 2.4ghz module for JR x388s

Postby AndyHopwood » August 28th, 2010, 2:35 pm

Hi I bought a second hand tranny and reciever 35mhz JR x388 mode 2 for 30 quids and I changed it to mode one by swopping the rachent and spring for evelator.

I have always used futabu tranny6 channel and reciever and servos I have about 16 futabu servos and all ass etc and I bought this JR tranny as it has nine channels and the ability to convert to 2.4ghz by changing the module etc which module should I go for? the spektrum module and get ar900 reciever or the official JR module??

also I noticed that all my futabu servos connectors don't fit into the jr reciever unless if I remove one piece of plastic on the side to fit the slot. it there a atapter lead to convert the connectors from futabu to JR ??

reason I bought this tranny 9 channel is cos I plan to build delta wings and build one big plane with retract and lights etc F117 and 8ft wingspan .90 4 stroke pusher vulcan etc regards

Hi,
I always find it better not to bother with an adapter. If you 'snip' off the plastic tab with wire cutters it is then relatively easy to pair off the remaining small piece of plasic with a sharp modelling knife - just watch your fingers and don't pair too much off because you will damage the plug and end up exposing the contact.

Virtuall y all servos from China/HK now all come flat, without this tab so that they fit both radio types.

Cheers
Andy

Have a look at the Frsky 2.4 set up from Giant Cod.They do a plug in module for JR sets . I have now sold all my JR/Spektrum 2.4 gear and am using this in all my models. I am using the Futaba base one but the JR base one is the same thing.
I fly some fairly big models on it such as my 1/3rd pup 80cc Zenoah powered and 1/3rd cub along with 20 other models. I have nothing but good things to say about it. I have had a full season using it now. Started off in our glider we tow up and went from there. It also fail safes on all 8 channels and reconnects super fast . I prefer it much better than my Spektrum gear I had.
Anyway its an alternative to look at .
