Has anyone fitted a Jeti duplex module into a Multiplex 3030 transmitter and had it working OK.

Hi Barrie,

There has been an ongoing report on the RCMF site by a user..You do need to solder the module into the 3030 / 4000..I'm unsure how this complies with CE / ETSI compliance as you are effectively modifying the set and the integrity of the RF link relies on your ability to do this extremely well, but..Spektrum are bringing out a plug in module & 12 channel Rx for the 3030 / 4000 any time...I have one on order.

Many thanks Shaun.I have installed a Jeti module and connected it to the existing 35 meg module pins via a simple plug in lead.System works well and I have now been using it on normal sized models for about 2 months.I have not put it in a biggi yet as I have been unable to work out how to set up the failsafe.I think that the instructions are written by a software engineer.

Glad to hear it's worked out ok.... They must have changed the module, ( for the better) as the early reviews said it needed soldering to the power and ppm feeds.
It's a pity that even though the 3030 is over 20 years old it's still light years ahead of many modern tx's in terms of memories ( 100 ) and the ability to map or mix virtually anything to anything easily...... Made by modellers for modellers....
Actually I think the guy who owns ACT worked on the 3030 / 4000... I nearly invested in their 2.4g conversion but was worried by the lack of actual units in the field at the time...Spektrum & Futaba had 1000's.
Cheers,

Shaun

For those of you who are considering modifying their Tx, suggest you read the artical in the latest issue of the BMFA News, you may make yourself liable to an unusable tx as you may be invalidating the CE certification.

A whole new can of worms.Does it mean that OFCOM only allows the use of manufacturers complete systems,if that is the case, how many users are flying with illegal equipment. What is the morality around distributors selling such equipment and the modeling press reviewing it.Jeti state in their literature, that module TU is suitable for MPX transmitter type 3000
