Engine kill switch wiring query..............

I have a 1/4 scale BUSA Fokker D7 with a Zenoah 38 on electronic ignition, it is fitted with an engine kill switch, the rx was removed from the plane when i bought it. I have traced all the wires back so i can connect to my rx but one has got me scratching my head. The wire from the kill switch is on a Y lead with the left hand aileron? Will this work, surely it needs to go into a separate channel on the rx...............

Any answers appreciated.................Martin

Martin, I'm sure i had the kill switch on its own channel. I use a switch on the shoulder of the tranny (futaba 9c). I had ailerons on separate channels, elevator halves on a channel each, rudder (mixed with ailerons), throttle, and kill. 7channels in all. The y lead was to the ignition battery monitor as far as I can remember. I also had a monitor on the receiver battery. Although I use a futaba tranny, it's fitted with a hitec 2.4 module and flew with a hitec optima receiver.
Cheers,
Steve

Thanks Steve, i have been up to the model room and re checked and it is as you say, a Y lead which goes to the kill unit and the ignition battery monitor, the other Y lead is the battery into the left aileron, i was getting my Y leads crossed!!!!!! So the aileron port also supplies the battery power to the rx.

Martin,
Just checked my transmitter. I had the following on the d7:

Ch 1 and 7 ailerons 60% differential
Ch 4 rudder 40% mix to ailerons
Ch 6 kill switch on switch H
Ch 3 throttle
Ch 2 master and 5 slave elevator (5 reversed, as they are "handed")

Flew with lots of down trim, but the busa d7 is known for this.

The 9c allows ailerons on 1 and 6, or 1 and 7, depending on the type of setup.
Hope you enjoy flying her as much as I did.
Cheers
Steve.
