View Unread Posts button

Postby stuart cotgrove » January 22nd, 2010, 9:22 am

Hi all,

Last weeks or so I have been clicking on the View Unread Posts button and nothing comes up in the list, it just says No suitable matches were found.

This can't be right as there are new posts added every time.

Is it likely to be my PC, the forum, or are others finding the same?

Kind regards

Stuart

Hi All, there is an issue with this version of phpBB on the search engine, they have told us to reinstall the forum which will fix the problem, we are not prepared to do that because you would all have to re-register again so for the time being we are going to disable the buttons and remove them until they come up with a better solution.

We are also going to be looking into other forums in the near future that might serve out purpose better, this one is free which is not always best, so I’m sorry but we will all have to put up with it for now.

To hear this is freebie Forum software impresses me because I haven't found it wanting yet, praise I think when you consider that I was one of the serious dissenters of the old Forum, I hated it!
That said, now we are (Forum wise) firmly in the 21st Century I am perfectly happy to leave my trust in you Administration chaps to change whatever you like, I'm confident you won't take us backwards and if I have to re-register as a result, so be it.
Thanks for all the time and work you put in.

PS
This thread itself is a very good idea.

Hi Rob, ‘Thanks’ it is nice to get a good and positive comment about our forum for a change.
We are looking at a new one at the moment, when the time comes we will migrate it across into the LMA Website database, once it is there we will monitor and put it though a series of tests before we make it live, if all goes well there should be no downtime for anyone.

Also Rob Greenwood is looking into migrating all the usernames and passwords over as well if this works nobody should have to re-register, we are not worried about the timescale on this because this forum is doing its job for now despite the odd problem here and there. :geek:
