Logging off

Postby Chris Lane » October 22nd, 2012, 5:05 pm

This past week I have been logged out at the end of every visit despite ticking the auto log-on box - is it me or the site please?

Hi Chris, nothing has been changed on the site, if you have up your security on your Internet browser this will remove you login details even though you have ticked the box, or as Alan has said IE9 is known for pre setting a high risk security setting as standard, so I suggest you start looking there.

Hope this helps. :geek:

Thanks for the advice guys. I am using IE8 but the problem seems to be associated with deletion of cookies. If I don't include them on the "delete history" at the end of a session I am OK. Something about a recent change in EU law.

Arrr…. I see why now, deleting your history at the end of each session would have deleted all the cookies which our forum runs on, it is a difficult one, most viruses attach themselves to cookies hence it always pays to have a good antivirus software on your machines.

Hi Dave, since the change I am having to log in every time I use the forum, even on my iPad which wasn't the case before, any ideas? Great new site by the way.

Hi Barrie I am having the same issue, because I am using different devices it is now logging me off when I swap between them, another issue added to the list. Thanks Barrie, I will look into it.
