Forum Log-In Issues

Hi everyone, the forum is currently being tested to check that the new updated version will function correctly. You will not notice any difference as it is being tested on another server and so nothing is being touched with this forum.
One of the issues I keep getting asked about is a problem with logging on. You can log in fine but when you try to post something you are asked to log in again and again. I am not sure why this is happening but in 99% of cases clearing your internet cookies solves the problem. If you are unsure how to do this please follow the link below. If this does not cure the problem then please contact me.

Hi Steve, I am still having the same login problem on my iPad not sure why but it is ok on my iPhone running the same iOS. The phone stays logged in but the pad only stays in for about 3 secs. Any ideas?

Hi,
Every time I access the Site (which is generally every day) I have to "Log in". Every time(day) I log in and tick the "Log me in automatically" box. However, I still have to log in every visit. After logging in this morning I was then told that to post here I had to Log in..... anything I am doing wrong please?

Hi
I guessed it would work for some, otherwise they would be saying so, but not for me.
I cannot see a box marked "remember my details" but one which states "Log me on automatically each visit". This I tick each time I log on (each day and sometimes more than once a day) but for my next visit I have to log on again.
This only started happening about a month or so ago.

Same here.
It remembers my log in info, but the "remember me" box doesn't remember me. Have to tick the box each time.

Actually, thinking about it, it may be that Chrome is remembering my details. Lord only knows what the password is....

There's nothing wrong with any of your computers, there's an issue with the way the forum software deals with cookies that are used to log you in automatically if your browser remembers your username & password.
One day it will be fixed, but the forum software is several versions old and it's not an insignificant job to upgrade it, so it won't be a fix coming in the next few days.
Just think of the healthy exercise you're getting typing your details in, or if you're really idle, clicking the lgin button!
