Fantastic to see a truly historic machine being resurrected, restored to fitness and displayed for what she was meant for!
I too hope to witness her in "flight"!!

It really is so impressive in the flesh, Cary. Not only the visual aspect but the roar of the Orpheus.

On Wed. Evening, Ted Walsh probably got it up to around 170mph on the first run which really is about the absolute max. for Lake Fad...

Its fabulous work but I hope they dont push her too far- I think she is unsound at high speeds, and certainly when slowing down. Another accident is waiting to happen. Its a treasure.

As you well know Keith, there are two sides to the story of Bluebird K7, the people who makeup the Bluebird Project and the Campbell Trust / Ruskin Museum.

The plan to cut out the Team who have rebuilt this magnificent machine and deny them any further contact with it is, in my view, not one worth supporting.

Lets not get into repeating the arguments, they are available to be seen in the relevant places on the web but I would recommend to anyone interested in K7 and her future to understand both sides of the issue before supporting one or the other.

It is absolutely correct, Stuart, that people understand both sides of the argument, but that is why after several years of observing this developing controversy and ultimate impasse, I am urging support of the legal action being taken by the Campbell Family/Ruskin Museum.
I would very much urge caution, however, in seeking such understanding from what has proliferated on social media sites, much of which has been quite unbalanced and laced with vitriol to a degree that is quite shameful to the memory of a great British hero.

The owner of the orpheus is not allowing the engine to be left installed when it returns to conniston as he doesn't trust RM to look after it correctly, so it will just be a static display which is such a shame considering the amount of work that has gone into rebuilding the K7

See the Ruskin Museum web and FB pages where, possession of a donated Orpheus is confirmed, as is the intention to run K7 on Coniston once it’s condition has been assessed on it’s return to the RM by an engineering company with the requisite skills and expertise to install the engine, and, operate the craft.

I’ve just completed the 4 Campbell Heritage Walk&Talk days and the feedback has been so positive, I’ve agreed to do 5 next year.

Perhaps you’d like to come along to one?
