another miserable weekend

Hi all, what another miserable weekend, here in the North West of England we have been battered with winds of up to 80mph at times and driving sleet throughout the week only for it to be replace with rain all weekend, I know it is winter but we had all this in summer, “apart from the sleet”, when is it going to end. :x

So what is it like where you are, are you feed up of listening to Christmas song on the radio at home and longing to escape to the flying filed or are you lucky enough to be out and about today :?:

Dave, I don't think that anyone anywhere will be out today if they can help it.
Still, cheer up mate, only ten days to go to the winter solstace and then we are on our way up out of the gloom.
I make a point having a little tipple to celebrate on the 21st. It works wonders.

Light at the end of the tunnel.

Windy and wet but bright weather in Norfolk.

Last flew 3 weeks ago and missing it a bit now....

Good news is that I have used this weekend to get the retracts installed and wheel wells lined on my Typhoon (Chris Willis)

Dave we had a perfect day for flying yesterday with clear blue and calm all day here in Marlborough Wilts.
I can fly leccy on the common which is above the town, uninterupted apart from the odd dog walker calling out 'oi is that a Spit'.
As if they needed to ask.
This weekend we normaly have Chockys winter warmer in Marlborough, which is an invite social event including wives, for the fighter boys at Baldock.
However, postponed this year until Jan as some ill and others couldnt get down.
Shame with the ideal conditions yesterday.
Tony you are right on, I can't stand this time of year as I have an outdoor life style and I too always have a nip on the soltice and think 'it'll be cocktails on the patio soon' ( should be said with a public school RAF type accent)
My advice to everyone is pour your frustations into some great building and painting and grin and bare it until warm sunlight spills through an open workshop door again.
I might even have a WW1 offering airborne next year.
Seasons greetings to one and all.
PS if its any consolation it has been **** here today with rain like atomic stair rods.

Got half a days flying in yesterday as I can't go through a weekend without getting a flying "fix". Very cold wind but you know what they say :-

There is no such thing as bad weather...only bad clothing.

Finally driven back to the workshop by heavy rain but a great mornings flying out in the fresh air.

Its another lovely sunny morning with a little bit of a breeze but it will change by lunch.
With all the rain on the West coast its little doubt they have webbed feet.

So you guys up north are telling us that its wet or sunny, dont you know we wimps down here have to put up with all sorts of things such as higher temps due to gulfstream bringing warm winds and barmy days, thats why people come down here for a holiday and we go up north to get away from the high temps and crowded beaches its such a bore having to water the garden!I Expect Daddy Xmas, is also delighted to visit these climes to get a bit warmer too.So far no snow only a bit of frost that went in a few mins, pitty as it was very welcom.Im told it gets rid of the bugs, and we sure do need to get rid of them  as the computer is full of um.Anyway to you every where keep well and dont let the bed bugs bite, have a wee dram and a great new year.
