Can you identify this model and its owner

This will get the old gray matter going. I am trying to find out about this model and owner for another forum can you help it was taken at Woodvale in 1978 they think.

DJ knows that one, i told him about this model years ago, i was buying some planes from the guy, the model lived outside, in a trailer, we had a good look at it, but for the life in me, i cannot remember where, who, or when, but i do remember telling Dave about it, years ago, not much use, but hey hum

Alan--yes i vaguely remember ---the model was in a bad state of repair if i remember rightly because of being left outside in trailer--but memory isnt so good nowadays,and i cant remember who owned it either---

The 747 was owned by a liverpool club member and was flown by Mike Rawlings but the owner left the club and it has sat in the trailer ever since ,I drive past the house twice a week in Litherland Liverpool . I went to see him and tryed to buy it because of the history with the Liverpool club and this model but he wouldn't sell it .

Could that be Roy Levers origional Plancaster ? so named as it was a sort of Lancaster but with flat sides and top. ????????

I remember that orrid Lanc, trying to get back in the van at Woodford, Lever chasing it down the runway at Woodvale, hanging out the sunroof of a jag, and in a spin before it met terra firma at one of the shows, i think Cosford,

Andy, is that 747 still there then? might be worth yet another knock?

I'm not sure if it is still there as the trailer was behind a fence in the side garden of his house , If it is still there the model will be in a right mess as it was a good few years ago when I went round and it was suffering then .It's a real shame as it would have looked great with a couple of small turbines in it instead of the 4x .61 glows that was in it .

I believe it was- at the Vladivar Vodka Cosford show, if I remember. I watched it go in- first thing everyone said- "wheres the bloody parachute?" (powermax had a safety chute for a failsafe)

Shame about the 747, when i was at his gaff, he said he would never sell it, it could have been flying for a few more years, ah well,

Bob, i beleive you are bang on with that, with that chute system Roy had, the only time i could see it deploying was when the thing hit the floor,

If I recall the show at Cosford was called Modelex run by Traplet before they took over wings and Wheels. Vladavar Vodka were the sponsors of an aerobatic duo of 1.4 scale Yaks but not the sponsors of the whole show...if my memory serves me right.

I remember the Yak duo at the Modellex show, they were flown by John Palmer and Ian Richardson. They put on quite a good display for the times, that is if they could get both of the Tartan Twin engines going at the same time. Roy Levers 'Lanc' was more of an entertainment than a flight !!!
