Dear All
Just 3 weeks to go until the Battle of Britain model commemorative event,
to be held at Tibenham airfield on Friday the 10th of September 2021.

I am pleased to announce we will be receiving a fly past by
a BBMF Spitfire at 18:24.

The remembrance ceremony may be moved back
to align with the Spitfire flypast.

Hopefully I will be able to confirm shortly that the cafe will
be open after the Spitfire flypast, so that the Battle of Britain ball
will be able to make a welcome return.

The plan for the opening slot is a Spitfire and Hurricane melee.

Hopefully we will get a good turnout and the weather will
be kind to us.

Regards Phil Goff

Just two days to go until the Bob at Tibenham. The weather forecast
is good with a possibility of light showers the wind is due to be light and down the track.
We need Spitfires and Hurricanes, particularly Hurricanes.

Model wise they are very few (Pun intended) and far between.
The engine in my DB Hurricane cuts above half throttle.
So what I might do is for quickness is to replace the carb.
Does anyone know what the correct walbro carb would
be for a DLE 55RA please? I have re plumbed the tank etc.

I have not tried carb cleaner yet. I could try that first I suppose.

Time is of the essence.

What are your thoughts?
Thank you.

What General Waygand called the Battle of France is over.
I expect the Battle of Britain is about to begin.

I should be leaving for Tibenham with in the next 15 minutes. Yippee.

I must admit it was nice to see Kev. F. taking part
in the flying activities. We are desperate for WW2 Fighters.
Do you have anything like that Kev. F. or anybody else for that matter.

I would like to thank all those who attended my humble
Battle of Britain model Commemorative event. We really
did have a good day. As always there were some fantastic models
present and the flying was of the highest order.

We could do with some more fighters both WW1 and 2.
There were 3 of us in the Balbo and 2 in the BSS sortie's.

As I have a liking for anything WW2. I took particular interest
in Colin Osborne's Ju88 which was superb and it flew beautifully.
What was a nice touch was that the designer of the model
John Ransom was there to witness the maiden flight.
Which was a breeze until one of the legs collapsed on landing
which was a shame.

John R. brought along his magnificent enlarged BT Mossie
complete with sound system. Which was superb. I think
Pete Coxan took some video of that.

The main remembrance ceremony at 18:10 was as poignant
as ever with the Spirit of Coltishall association, the trumpeter
and the lone piper. Of course the icing on the cake was the
3 flypasts by the magnificent BBMF MK V Spitfire, which was
beautifully flown by Flt.Lt. Andrew Preece. Andrew contacted
me yesterday morning to see if his flypast was OK, I informed him
it was significantly more than OK. It turned out that he also flies
models.

I am hoping to put on an any model event at Tibenham on
Friday the 29th of October. It is my Birthday my Brother Clive's
and my Nephew Muffler's Birthday all in October.
So that would be a nice Birthday present for us.

In closing thank you all once again for your continuing support.
I do appreciate that. I would like to thank my helpers.
