Just one week to go until the Salute to the 445th Bomb Group commemorative model event.
The remembrance ceremony at midday will be a bit more formal for this event.
Work has been going on behind the scenes to make that happen.

The honour guard from Mildenhall will be attending, a big thank you goes to George Gomez
for his help with that. The 48th tactical fighter wing from Lakenheath were contacted
regarding a flypast but no reply was received from them. The Spirit of Coltishall Association
will also be present, complete with trumpeter and piper.

Pete C. Can you make a video of this please? So the veterans families in America
will be able to watch it at their leisure.

A reminder, that the café will be open from 9am until 1pm.
Lets hope we get some good weather and a good turnout.

Thank you.

I am pleased to write that aviation artist extraordinaire Martin Bleasby
will be coming along on Friday as well as a NGC member plus another
from the Coltishall days.

There should be a tug at this event, so the Horsa at long last will be getting an outing.
There should be at least three sheep present hopefully there will be more to make up a good size flock.

Dear All
I would like to thank all those who attended the Salute to the 445th Bomb Group event.
It really was a good day.

A big thank you to my helpers, I could not do this without them.

They are, in no particular order
Tony C.
Mark D. (Dibble)
James G. (Muffler)
Colin O.
George G. (Help with the Honour Guard)
Brian C. (Red 1)
The Spirit of Coltishall association
Alisdair Mc. (The Piper)
The Norfolk Gliding Club

Photography/Video
Pete and Dean Coxan (Above and beyond the call of duty, with interviews etc.)
Kevin Fairgrieve (Superb pictures as always.)

As usual there were some superb models present
and the flying was to an extremely high standard.

I thought the remembrance ceremony was particularly moving
with the Honour Guard and the Spirit of Coltishall Association.
When the Piper struck up with amazing grace, it made the hairs
on the back of my neck stand up. An error on my part when I
forgot to mention our heroic key workers and NHS, I have now
put a note in my phone along with our silent guns.

I have already written to the Spirit of Coltishall Association and the Piper
thanking them, I will write to the Honour Guard shortly to thank them
also.

My team of Tony C., Muffler, Colin O. and Dibble were on good form,
they managed to pull out a twist in the Pup wings and Colin went home
and got some wire to make a missing aileron linkage (Above and beyond that).
The Pup now flies like a dream, thank you boys.

Our Horsa had three flights, thanksto Stuart M. for the tow ups
and the Spit XIV finally flew after major repairs.
It flies just as well as it did before the crash, I am really pleased about that.

The Black Sheep Sqn. managed to put three aircraft in the air.
Black Jack
Black Knight
Black Adder

So a big thank you to everyone for making it a wonderful day.

The planning now intensifies for the Battle of Britain commemorative event
on Friday the 10th of September 2021. The opening slot will be Spitfires and Hurricanes.

Thank You.
Regards Phil G.
