JR DSX9 receiver compatability

Good afternoon all,

I have just migrated from JR 3810 and PCM9X to a second hand JR DSX9 2.4ghz transmitter. I have bought a Spektrum AR8000 with Remote satellite receiver. The receiver seems to bind ok with the transmitter but apart from an initial servo kick when the servo is plugged in there, is no further movement when the transmitter controls are moved.

Has anybody had experience of this combination or can suggest where I might be going wrong ?

Regards all, Steve

I'm happy for someone to correct me if I'm wrong here, but it's my understanding that the newer AR8000 Rx's are DSM-X only, where as your radio is DSM2. The early ones were compatible with DSM2 and DSM-X. I've not bought a new Rx for a while, but they were coming in two different colour packets when I did. The brown coloured packs were DSM2 compatible and the black packets were DSM-X. Like I say though, not 100% confident on that, so happy for others to chip in.

Failing that, it sounds like you're going to fail-safe, so my first point of call would be to re-bind.

According to Horizon, all DSMX receivers also work on DSM2, so that part should be no problem.

Once you've bound the TX & RX, have you turned it all off, taken the bind plug out & turned on again?

Does the TX work with other receivers?

Thanks guys,

I have tried all permutations, ie , turning off the transmitter after binding, bound with steady light and then nothing. I hope to meet up with someone tomorrow to bind to a spektrum transmitter to be sure the receiver is working.
