New Chance Vought F4U Large 1/5 scale Royal kit built up balsa and ply. Approx. 100" wing span. Wing is in 3 parts, centre section with 2 outer panels fitted with powered folding wing arrangement and pneumatic locking pins. The model is finished in grey primmer with lots of scale detail .All servos fitted apart from throttle servo , no engine fitted but would suit a Laser 360 or large petrol engine. The centre wing section contains miniature high torque (104:1) 12 volt geared motors to raise and lower the outer wing panels at scale speed (approx. 27 sec. to raise) and wing locking pins that automatically engage with the wing fully down .The interlock will not allow the wing to raise until the pins are fully retracted this sequence is operated from the transmitter. There is a manual override fitted on the locking pins. Flap, ailerons and rudder servos are Hitec with metal gears. Scale Robart retracts are fitted with 6” scale wheels. Elevator is operated by Hitec H/D metal geared servo and air valves operated by JR servos. Cowl is F/G with a spare spun aluminium cowl available. Mains and tail wheel doors fitted with over centre spring closing. The model is ready for final painting, weight 27.5 lbs. More photos available.
