T-240 BASED GLIDER TUG/SPORT MODEL
The model uses the sturdy Precedent T-240 as a basis for an excellent glider tug. The model is fitted with a strong glider towing attachment just aft of the wing. A low-hours Zenoah 45 provides plenty of urge; the model will tow a 4 metre, scale glider with ease. All components that needed strengthening have been suitably beefed up and a composite undercarriage is fitted.
Covered in cream Glosstex with dark green/light green paint trim and a clear lacquer top coat, the model is attractive and purposeful. Flaps are fitted, enabling a speedy descent after a tow and fuss-free landings. Eight JR servos are fitted, two batteries power the Rx and servos separately.
The model is mildly aerobatic (loops, rolls, spins, side-slips and stall turns), is very easy to fly and is solid as a rock in the air. The motor, on its 20 X 10 prop, gives the model a low noise signature. Transport is not a problem in a normal-sized hatchback or estate car.
