For sale is my 1/4 scale Hawker Sea Fury built to a high standard using the Jerry Bates plan, currently finished in an Australian Navy Oxford blue scheme it is a well known model which now also benefits from the installation of a set of heavy duty Dave Brown retract units mated to scale double acting oleo legs.

The model has been through the over 20 kg scheme on three occasions, each to suit various sizes of Moki radial,if interested a Moki 250cc or 300cc or 400cc unit together with suitable propellers can be provided at additional cost - additionally should anyone be interested it can also be supplied as a full turn key model ready to fly with a new Moki 400cc installed, along with a 4 blade propeller.

For the airframe only supply as detailed £3500

No way Trevor, I love seeing this model and still haven’t seen it with the 400.

Hi Stewart - I know you love Sea Fury's as much as I do,you are also more than aware of the task involved in building and completing to flying condition one of these awesome machines, mine being for sale therefore offers anyone who is also ''in love'' with the type the chance to get the Fury adrenaline rush without expending the minimum two plus years of constant effort in putting one together.

I have another project for next year hence the need to thin out the number of big warbirds that I am fortunate enough to own,I do not have any video of it flying with the Moki 400 upfront I am afraid, but the short video below thanks to Pete and Dean Coxen shows it being flown with the Moki 300, this is similar to how it performs on a 250,the bigger engine simply allowing a 4 blade prop to be used, interestingly the models weight has remained constant through the increasing engine size range, it has just meant that the several kilos of nose lead could be incrementally removed, the current performance with the 400 is however in another league and more akin to the full size.

Anyone interested in taking on this beast should contact me.

Firstly can I thank those who have contacted me regarding the Sea Fury and those that made offers to buy it, but more importantly can I thank those that urged me to keep the model and fly it more frequently - after assembling the model ready for viewing I realised that the thing is to some extent irreplaceable without years of effort, unlike a commercially available composite warbird - the model is therefore withdrawn from sale.

A wise decision Trever. I have to say I would find it very difficult to part with my Tempest. Brian..
