I'm looking for a supplier of gasket sets for a Bing 48 Carb. Does anyone know of a suitable source of gaskets for these carbs?
Thanks
Chris

Hi Chris you could try Rowena Motors Bangor N.Wales - tel no 01248 715552.He also has a website.
If he hasn’t got them he may know where to go
Hope this helps
Pete

Hi Chris just remembered the Bing carbs were fitted to some Stijl chainsaws - spares listed on eBay

Thanks Pete, i'll give them a ring tomorrow. Its for a Mackay 45 i've had for 10 years and i was the third owner.
Do you know if the Bing can be changed for a walbro on those engines? It s Front induction 45cc?

Not sure if a swap would be easy - the heat sink may be a problem.
I have several scrap Walbro carbs - could send you one if you want a look - they have come off mainly chainsaws but I have one off a Zenoah somewhere.
Cheers

Hi Pete,
I've just looked at the 45, it uses a pressure tapping and external pipe from the crankcase to provide the pulse for the carb pump diaphragm, whereas the Walbros I am familiar with use an internal drilling via the insulator block.

Hi Dave yes the Mackay 30 uses the same system with a Walbro carb - so it may be sortable, but for what it costs for a set of gaskets
I think I would persevere with the Bing carb initially.
