Built from the German, Klaus Dettner kit and finished as the “Henry Haigh” version of the full-size. The model is 88” span and weighs 18lbs 12oz. The motor is a 3W-40cc petrol with a full-length tuned pipe (in internal ducting). The fuselage/fin/cowl are epoxy/glass and the wings and tail are foam cored with thick balsa skins.
The finish is sprayed using Flair Spectrum paints; the wings are covered in Glosstex. Clear, two-part lacquer seals the lettering and provides a durable finish (the model has acquired the odd “in service” paint chip, though).
Futaba servos are fitted. The model is a joy to fly and is totally aerobatic – just as the full-size. This is a scale, aerobatic machine, not a 3D model!
