A request for help

Postby Dave Parry » June 21st, 2011, 3:52 pm

Hi All, I have been sent an email asking for help, I can’t thing of a better place to ask. of course I will point out the errors of his ways and advice him he should Join.

Dear Dave Parry,

Could you please advise me on the following:-

Although I have been building model aircarft for some years (approx 60), I have never ventured into large models and of course I am not currently a
member of the LMA.

However, I am contemplating a particular project and am having difficulty> sourcing Spruce strip of up to 4ft in length, which is nice and straight,
the commercially available material always seems to have significant curves/warps. Do you have access to a supplier able to supply good
straight long lengths?

Further where can I obtain large diameter vintage/first world war type wheels?

I would be greatful for any advice you can offer.

Yours sincerely,
RAE EMERY

Pegasus models stock upto 1/3 scale Dubro vintage wheels (WW1 era) , but the model type will determine the weter the wheels would be suitable, as spoked may be more in keeping with the original. These are available from a German company IIRC, I could do a search if required (Herbie Wheels??)

Thanks Chris/Alan, I have told him to keep an eye on the forum thread so I am sure he will pick them up, he said he will be coming to the Cosford show and joining the LMA.
