Colin Clark

Postby bernard morris » November 11th, 2011, 12:09 pm

I am sorry to have to report that Colin Clark died yesterday (10th November). Colin, of course, ran the Much Marcle show for many years and was an early member of the LMA.
He had been in a hospital for a short time with, I believe, heart failure. We were pleased to see him at Much Marcle Show in September with his wife and sons.
I will pass on funeral arrangements when I know them.

Very sorry to hear about Colin - He was quite a character. It wasn't unusual for Colin to administer many and various "rollockins" at the pilots briefing during a weekend at Muche Marcle ! (all for the best of reasons of course ) My memory highlight was at the end of a terrific weekend, bathed in typical warm sunshine, the trophies were being awarded by Colin himself when he declared the best of show should go to Mr D. Johnson with his new B17. It mattered not one jot that the B17 had been flying that weekend 250 miles away at the Southport show !! I'm sure Colin will be keen to get involved in organising and planning that great airshow that we'll all be taking part in one day.

Very sad to hear of Colin's passing. He was a very hard working member of the LMA Committee during the 1990's and, of course, a driving force behind the establishment of the Much Marcle Event.

Sincere condolences to his family and friends.

I am not sure if dad was a current member. However please find below a
notice to any of your members who knew him.

If you could forward this to your membership I would be grateful

Some you may have heard that Dad died on the 10th November 2011 after a
short stay in Hereford County Hospital.

The funeral will be held at the Hereford Crematorium at 12.00 noon on
Wednesday 23rd November 2011. Afterwards there will be a celebration of his
life at Eaton Bishop Village Hall.

If you would like to attend one or both events would you please let us know
(please note the funeral directors have asked us to assemble a few minutes
before noon).

If you need directions to either venue please let me know.

It was dad's express wish that there be no black ties or other sombre
attire.

Russell Clark
