Following a recent agreement, The Midlands Large Model Flying Group is now in a position to offer an additional five limited vacancies available to prospective, good, new members.
Being a member of the M.L.M.F.G can bring with it many rewards. We've created a very friendly and unique model flying experience and environment here at Catton. Everyone gets along together really well and all share a passion for larger flying models. We have implemented more generous noise limitations than most clubs due to the nature of larger IC powered models and being well established at Catton we have no disernable noise issues either with the land owner or neighbours. Having said that, there are limitations as to what we would consider acceptable levels.
We do focus on slightly larger than average sized model aircraft right up to what would be classed as giant sized model aircraft of all types and styles. Electric, turbine, glow or petrol powered large models all welcome. That doesn't stop us from having a bit of fun with small electric models on those less that ideal flying days or quieter interludes on a busy day at Catton Park.
Most decent Saturday's at Catton will usually attract a healthy congregation of models that are often only seen at shows or other special events. We do welcome large scale helicopters and all turbine powered aircraft as well as the popular 20cc - 30cc powered model aeroplanes
albeit a sports model or scale. We also have a goodly number of 1/4 scale WW1 models and Catton WW1 team members but will always welcome more participants.
New members are not required to be ace pilots ( just disciplined, considerate and safe) nor do you need to be an award winning builder or be the owner of a megga model. Just good, friendly folks who would like to fly in a fun but safe manner with like minded people within a friendly atmosphere.
For 2013, We have also suspended the previously compulsory £100 joining fee, so becoming a member of T.M.L.M.F.G. has never been more affordable.
