Very sad to hear that Colin passed away this morning.A few years ago at the Southport LMA fly in, Colin was commentating the event, and on the saturday night we made him an honorary member of the Yorkshire Ole Farts.Presenting him with a cap complete with logo and his name.He was really chuffed. On behalf of myself, Tony Woodhouse,Harry Harland,Paul Crawshaw,Keith Buckham, and David Tappin, our sincere condolences to Colins family.

Might I add my own condolences and those of the LMA. Colin served us well - despite not always being in the best of health at many shows.
He was also a superb, large-scale modeller and no mean flyer. He never let that overtake his modest charm and will be much missed in the hobby......

Very sorry to here Colin has passed away today, I knew he was very poorly but hoped he would pull through. Colin was one of the very best and I always enjoyed talking to him about many things. He was a fabulous modeller and a font of knowledge. I used to love his commentry at the shows, again one of the very best in the business. He was a very gracious man and I will truly miss him. My condolences go out to Rose and family and i will be thinking of them at this difficult time.

I last saw Colin just before Christmas when I picked up his B25, a truly fabulous model which I will cherish and keep flying in his honour. Colin you were a legend in our hobby R.I.P mate.

Likewise as a very close friend of Colin's I share wholeheartedly with your comments, I have lost a great mate.

also, I have been asked to state, that please under no circumstances phone his wife Rose at this very diffcult time, the family wish to be able to quietly grieve, if you require any information regarding Colin's funeral etc. please contact either Vic Charles on: 07868 855650 or Les Eagle on: 01474 815055

Many thanks,
Vince.

I knew for a while that Colin was not well, and i met him earlier this year to purchase all his PA gear for the LMA ,but i was shocked to see how fast he went downhill.I was already on my way down to Rougham early Thursday am when i had the call.Rougham show was one of the LMA ones that Colin commentated at for many years and appropriately we had a minutes silence at Pilots briefing to show our respect for Colin.Once the funeral arrangements are confirmed,i will post on here ,and i will be travelling down with several others to represent the LMA there.
Condolences to Rose and Colins other family----
