This was email to me a couple of days ago, so I thought I would share it with all that knew him
For the Attention of Dave Parry, LMA Website/magazine
I have been prompted to write and let members of the LMA know of the death of my husband, David Shaw, known as ‘Don’ to his friends. David joined the LMA around 2004 and enjoyed helping at the air shows (he had the blue bus with the LMA logo) as well as attending the fly in events. David passed away suddenly in April 2011 and, at the time, his LMA membership lapsed without any explanation from myself. It was only after a chance meeting with John Evans at Binham this year that I realised that David was remembered by other LMA members and it seems only right and fitting to explain his ‘disappearance’.
Following a kind invitation to attend the fly-in weekend at Binham in June, I would like to say thank you to everyone who made me very welcome – Andrew Taylor, his wife Beverley, and, in particular, John Evans, without whose encouragement I would never have been brave enough to attend in the first place! Binham was one of David’s favourite places and it brought back lots of fond memories of those times. I hope to be back again in September, once again, thank you.
