petrol pump hanger

Postby richard armstrong » July 13th, 2014, 4:44 pm

need some guidance on how to make a bracket to hold my motor pump on my 20l petrol can,

at the moment its just hung by cable ties.

i have looked around the net but no one makes a bracket that i can adapt,

thinking of using a sheet of ali to make a bracket

any suggestions?

Duct tape, lots and lots of duct tape :D

No seriously though have you considered using grip ties they use on expedition rucksacks. Two of them around the 20L tank and then you could use aluminium strips to attach it within the straps maybe? The other option is have the tank on a base, nothing too special and attach the pump to that. Keep the base within the minimum dimensions and you shouldn't even notice it. Of course if you used wood a suitable varnish or treatment would be adviseable.
