VERY SAD NEWS

Postby DAVE JOHNSON » November 29th, 2014, 8:08 am

It is with great sadness and shock that I have to report the passing of long time committee member and friend DAVE BAILEY---he has worked as Camping manager for the LMA for many many years and will be greatly missed.
Our thoughts go out to Karen and all his family

I just can't get my head around this, to say I am shocked is an understatement, I like Dave got woke up this morning by Matt, Dave Baileys son telling me the sad news, word fail me to describe how I am feeling at this moment. My thoughts go out to his wife Karen and his family at this dreadful time for them all.

Just heard the sad news on Dave Bailey's passing, my deepest condolences to his family. Dave was a one-off, a nicer and more helpful man you could not meet.

Although I only knew him for a couple of years I always enjoyed his company and his knowledge. It is so sad that his presence is no longer with us but he will always be in our minds and fondly rememberred. Sincere condolences to his wife and family.

Just logged on as usual every morning, I cannot believe this terrible news. I was only chatting with him last Sunday at Cosford and he seemed his old usual, friendly self. Words fail me. Our thoughts are with his family and friends at this awful time. RIP Dave.

I am new to the LMA, and as yet did not have the opportunity to meet Dave. I was at the meeting on Sunday, my first, so could have said hello? However, may I pass my condolences to Dave's family and wish him peace for ever more.

He will indeed be greatly missed and well remembered, not only for all the work he did for the LMA over the years, but also for being a thoroughly nice chap who was always ready to help anyone.

My condolences to all his family.

Very sad and totally unexpected news, he will be truly missed at the shows etc, always the first person to meet at the gate with a laugh and a joke. My condolences to Daves wife and family.

What terrible news! being overseas I only just read the post. Having not been a member of the LMA for as long as many members, I only got to know Dave over the last couple of years, his humor and genuine warm welcome usely on the gate at all the shows I have attended will be greatly missed. My thoughts are with Daves family during this most upsetting time.

Our thoughts are with Dave's family. He was a very special, funny, caring man. He also was an incredible hard worker.

To say we are shocked and sad is an understatement. We have a lot to thank Dave for.

Perhaps an appropriate epitaph - a pic' of Dave enjoying himself at Longhorsley.

A rare occasion indeed, as he was usually ensuring everybody else's enjoyment...

Class act taken far too soon.

This is truly very sad news for not only the LMA but for Model flyers throughout the UK and more importantly for his close family and friends.
Dave was for me a true Ambassador of the LMA always showing that helpful kind attitude to his fellow modellers and would never see anyone stuck with a problem.

You will be missed by the many who were privileged to have you share a part in there lives.
RIP
