Some good news for a change--new LMA President

Postby DAVE JOHNSON » December 23rd, 2014, 8:50 pm

After the recent sad news I had to report---its great to be able to announce some fantastic good news for the LMA .
For several years, since the sad Passing of our President Sir John Willis,we have left the position unfilled as a mark of respect .Recently at our last committee meeting at Gaydon,it was decided it was time to look for a new President.
As many of you will know,at our last couple of Elvington shows, the well known Vulcan pilot of the Falklands war and of recent XH558 chief pilot ---MARTIN WITHERS DFC---came and offered some commentary for our show,He spoke to me and said how impressed he was with our models and skills,so I suggested he would be the perfect replacement for Sir John. Martin had met and worked alongside Sir John in his early Vulcan training days.
I wrote to him recently ,and I can now confirm he has accepted the post of LMA President.I am hoping to invite him along to our next AGM to introduce him to the the membership.

Happy Xmas to you all

Good choice.

Maybe he could be asked if he would do a short talk after the AGM on his service career or involvement with 558?
