558th post

Postby paul needham » March 3rd, 2015, 8:18 am

As this is my 558th post on this forum I thought that I would just put a couple or three pics on, most people will see the connection between the post title and the pics of one of the most iconic British aircraft ever built. There must be one or two Vulcan fans out there somewhere.

Super aircraft, one of Britain's finest. Glad I was around in the 50's and 60's to see the Vulcan, and a whole host of other magnificent aircraft grace our skies.
Sad that 558 is about to start its final season. In contrast I read somewhere that the USA are looking to re-engine their B52s to give them a life extension to about 2040!

well, the Russian Bear is in service until 2040. Must be something about the fifties....maybe they built stuff to last in those days! Problem with the Vulcan was that only the front crew had ejection seats. Must have taken some soul searching to pull that lever.....

That was a bit clever of you counting to that high number.

Guess mine will have to be 617
